I noticed some vibrant yellow pansies today . . . just after a spring rain . . . and each one was holding its own little drop of water. . . hanging on to the refreshing . . .
He refreshes and restores my life . . .

Like I said earlier, it has rained quite a bit around here and the water started rising . . . roadways were covered, everything got a little greener, and all the hidden trash was brought to the surface.
Heart floods do that too, you know . . . obscure carefully planned out paths, bring rapid new growth, and wash out all the junk . . .
may the eyes of your heart be flooded with light . . .

Sending a shout-out to da bug. . . she turned 18 last week! I know it sounds cliché, but it really does seem just like yesterday that she was hanging out in a NICU crib that was way too small. Now, it won’t be too long before she is a Senior in high school . . . where does the time go?!
Anyway . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you can forgive my lateness . . .
I love you . . .
you bring much laughter and joy to our lives . . .

This afternoon I was emptying some trash into the large street hopper that gets picked up a few times a week. I was focused on the task at hand, but as I was walking around my house, my eye was drawn to spring things . . . pinks and purples, buds and blooms . . .
May the “trash”, whatever it may be, never distract us from His beauty and life . . .
make the most of your time, and seize every opportunity . . .

After spending a few days in Texas with my mom and my daughter (three generations of beautiful women), mom and I spent several hours driving and riding through pouring rain and the gray fog. We made it home safely and decided that our aching bodies needed some cold, sweet, dairy-based refreshment (translation: ice cream!). As we neared Eskamoe’s we were treated to a most spectacular view . . . the place where the storm ended and the blue-pink of calmer skies appeared. There is always another side to the storm . . .
He is our shelter in storms and in rain . . .

Just a little play on words . . . so many “news” are springing up. We know they are there, just under the surface, waiting to pop out and surprise us . . . and they always do. Life happens . . .
He makes all things new . . .

Sometimes when I am out for a drive, I come across critters of various kinds (that’s what we call them here in the South). Whether they live in or around the water, or make their homes in the trees, or even if they abide in the care of a human, each one is unique. Enjoy the variety of creation . . .
